A More Detailed Explanation of How to Log In:

  Your password is a 7-digit number made of:
  • a 3-digit class number <== (click for a list)
  • and the last 4 digits of your student ID number

For example, if your class number is "007" and your Student ID is "111-22-3333," then your new password is => 0073333

Previous students, not currently in one of my classes, can still read and write private messages. Select the year you were my student, then use the 7-digit password. If you have taken classes in different semesters, use the most recent password -- older postings will be found under the newer password (and the old password will not work).

  Why passwords?
  • Your grades are often available on my weblog system. Academic records are protected and I am expected to make a reasonable effort to restrict access to them. Passwords provide this "reasonable" security.
  • "Email" systems (including CNM's) are essentially "postcards in the mail." I can't guarantee that email is private. But I wrote this weblog system myself, so I am reasonably sure that it will be *difficult* for anyone to peek at your messages without using your password.

  What if the password doesn't work?
  • Plase tell me. Perhaps we can go on-line together to find out what went wrong.
  • If you have just joined the class, maybe I haven't set up your WebLog yet.
  • Since there are times I can make typographic errors when creating password lists, I sometimes do!
